Artisanal mining: Quindio’s gold processing process creates much less pollution than the current Mercury Amalgamate method.

Quindio’s gold processing provides clean modern processing options for local miners and displaces inefficient and pollutive artisanal processing methods. 

Quindio’s process captures much more gold than the Mercury Amalgamation artisanal process, which benefits, the miners, the government, and Quindio.

This is an incredibly rare project, where the economic goals (profit), and the environmental goals (less pollution) are intertwined. Additionally, Quindio is committed to helping the communities where its gold is mined and where its miners live. Quindio will work with the local miners to purchase their ore at a reasonable price and ensure that any issues they have are dealt with in a timely manner.
